Enabling Land Conservation and Land Adoption Through Interactive UI Design
User Interface (UI) Build
Eco Reserve, now known as Mamoni Valley, is a non-profit organization committed to the conservation and preservation of the Mamoní Valley in Panama. Through an innovative platform, they allow individuals to adopt specific areas of land to support their environmental conservation efforts. The goal of this project was to build a user-friendly, interactive donation platform where anyone could purchase and "adopt" land to help preserve this vital ecosystem.
Mamoni Valley’s land adoption platform faced several technical and user experience challenges. The site needed to allow users to select and adopt areas of land from an interactive map. However, the existing user interface (UI) design was not intuitive enough to guide users through this process. There was difficulty in clearly identifying available land areas, and the interaction flow needed to be more straightforward to ensure users could easily complete their donations.
Working remotely with teams in San Francisco (USA) and New Delhi (India), we collaborated with Mamoni Valley leadership to identify the specific needs of the platform. The primary goal was to design an interface that allowed users to easily browse land plots, select one, and adopt it through a seamless, engaging donation process.
We took a holistic approach to redesigning the user interface to address both technical and UX challenges. Our team utilized HTML, CSS, and JQuery to build a fluid, interactive map interface that made the land adoption process intuitive.
Interactive Map for Land Selection:
We created a dynamic, clickable map that displayed different areas of land available for adoption. Users could click on a land plot to view detailed information and initiate the adoption process. A pop-up interface allowed users to adopt the selected land, offering an easy and engaging way to contribute.
Streamlined User Experience:
We redesigned the donation process to ensure it was simple and user-friendly. The UI was optimized for easy navigation, with clear visual cues guiding users through the steps from selecting land to completing their donation.
Technical Integration:
We worked closely with the development team in India to seamlessly integrate the front-end with the back-end systems, ensuring that the interactive map and adoption process functioned flawlessly.
The final result was a polished, functional UI that enabled users to view and adopt land in a seamless, engaging way, while also ensuring the technical aspects of the platform were robust and user-friendly.
